Stella!  Stella!!  DC took a dive into the lake to recover his Stella ($$$ reel).  He was successful.  Apparently Dave did not trust his depth finder and used his rod to determine the water depth.  It slipped out of his hand and Dave went swimming.

GD Too many beers, a misplaced tackle box, a drunk mans balance and a bad, bad, bad urge to piss out of a boat can be good cause for a swim.  Greg and Geoff Parr both took a dive when someone lost their balance (Greg) and flipped Greg’s Jon-Boat in dangerous 3-foot waters.

PO, Jr. (Mr.) dropped the crank of his reel off the dock, undressed (ugh) and jumped in on a recon mission to recover it, however the deep soot of the lake swallowed the reel crank forever.

JSA purchased a Berkley Lightning Rod in Florida back in 1994.  The rod stayed with him through 13 years of many quality fish including an 8 pound lunker caught in Lake Tarpon, FLA.  Well,  this rod saw it's end with a tremendous hook set into a dock.  Spider wire, too many beers and too much muscle were no match for the classic Berkley Lightning Rod.

Jay A had some troubles in 2008 with equipment and equilibrium.  Jay lost 2 rods to the lake in the same weekend.  One was the top half of a 2-piece fly rod that took a long dive into the lake while Jay was false casting to that one great fish.  The other was a nice rod and reel combo that Jay some how hooked behind him  in his back cast with another rod and heaved through the air in a valiant cast towards "oh shit" not again.  Finally,  while Jay was trying to untangled a lure from a bad cast into a tree he lost his balance and was smacked down into the lake (canoe + standing + beer x n  + tree branch + inertia = water).

DCA dropped Big Pat's Mag-Lite Flashlight into the water off the dock.  While f_ _ _ing around on the dock looking at stupid shit, Dan put down the flashlight (while ON) and it rolled off of the dock into the water.  Dan said, "F_ _ _ it! I will get it tomorrow."  Pat said, "F_ _ _ you!  Get it now."  So, Dan jumped into the water and recovered the flashlight (still ON) and it survives even today.  What a great product and what a really big asshole. http://www.bonecove-angler.com/hllbca_37.htm

CLJ spent the first year at the HLL learning how to fish.  A great lesson in fishing is experiencing the sharpness of hooks.  Chris drank too many beers, cast super hard and somehow drove an offset hook deep into his thumb!  Oh Shit!  Still a better place than his eye.  He pushed the barb through the thick skin of his thumb, snipped it with wire cutters and pulled the rest of the hook shank through his bleeding finger.  He fished through the pain and WON the inaugural event!!!  http://www.bonecove-angler.com/hllbca_34.htm
